About Me

"Ya know, Selly, you've always loved working with kids. I know you're staying in TV for the time being. But, have you given any serious thought of teaching or working with children in some other fashion? You've got such a great personality. That smile will get you the keys to the kingdom." - the late Robert Lewis, WJHL TV anchor Yes, Bob. I'm seriously thinking about it.

  1. Really nice use of animation to draw the reader into to key parts of the text!

Looking forward to watching it with music!

    I love Maya Angelou!

  2. Yikes. It had music. But, that's a good starting point to make modifications. A friend just passed away who loved Maya Angelou. She never made it to a live reading. I'm thinking she can see them all, up close and personal, now. :) I got to see her in Johnson City, TN at East Tennessee State University several years ago. Powerful.

  3. Your Illuminated text made me think about....
how much I love Maya Angelou. She is a very powerful author, and her words alone are very visual. "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" is one of my favorite of her books.

    You should consider changing/adding/taking out....
I would embed your music into your video. Also, I'm not sure what the Greek letters have to do with the text on that slide. You can hide the speaker after the first slide if you format it in PowerPoint. Some of the backgrounds confused me with how they were relevant to the text on their slide.

What I like best about your Illuminated Text is....
some of your pictures, such as your title picture, really fit the Maya Angelou style.

  4. Your Illuminated text made me think about....being a good and loyal person.
You should consider changing/adding/taking out.... adding music(but you know that:))
What I like best about your Illuminated Text is....the images you added to it.

  5. Your Illuminated text made me think about the time I was able to hear Maya Angelou in person. She is such a powerful speaker.

You should consider changing/adding/taking out.... I would speed up the transition time a little on your first slide. It lingers a bit to long for not including any animation details.

What I like best about your Illuminated Text is your choice in music. I felt it was reflective of Maya Angelou's message and catchy as well. :)

  6. Your Illuminated text made me think about.... How amazing a writer Maya Angelou really is!
You should consider changing/adding/taking out.... slide 5 - I couldn't read "Where the Music" because my computer screen was tilted slightly and the font was dark like the background. You might want to think of changing the color on that. For the whole slide I was like "Jazz is What"? "What is Jazz"?? I was so confused until I went back and looked at it again but was slouching in my chair that time! (Ha!)
What I like best about your Illuminated Text is.... the music! So, so great!

    You should consider changing/adding/taking out....
i would change the background - make it a little more "showy"

What I like best about your Illuminated Text is....
    the music!
